Jim Pyne
Jim Pyne, the founder of PLS Aviation, brings a wealth of experience from both the professional sports and aviation industries. Before establishing PLS Aviation in April 2024, Jim co-founded Wheels Up, a prominent membership-based private aviation company, where he served as Chief Partnership Officer. In this role, he was instrumental in developing strategic partnerships and enhancing member experiences.
Prior to his aviation career, Jim had a distinguished nine-season tenure in the National Football League (NFL) as an offensive lineman. He played for teams including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, and Philadelphia Eagles. Notably, he was the Cleveland Brown's Man of the Year and therefore their nominee for the Walton Payton award in 1999.
Jim graduated from the prestigious Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford Ct in 1990 and was later inducted into their Hall of Fame. Jim's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Virginia Tech, where he earned unanimous All-American honors in 1993. Jim was named a legend of the ACC and a finalist for the College football Hall of Fame. His exceptional contributions to the university's football program led to the retirement of his jersey number, 73, and his induction into the Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame.
